Ode to the Moon

Out of the depths I cry to thee,

Almighty, ever-glowing iridescence,

Calling to my ever-empty soul,

Forever trapped in a prison of want.

For I seek to see the beauty in thee,

With a true sense of self-salvation...

...But, what say you,

Oh ancient mystery of the aging skies?

I proclaim to thee in riddle,

Where the answers are assumably known,

But, do I expect a divine answer,

That would ring more true than my own?

I continue to ascend this lightly-lit path,

Guided by the embers of your pale gaze,

And, I shall walk until the sky does glow,

By the aging fires of forever days...
